AT&T Business Resource Groups and AT&T Pioneers Partner to Aid Katrina Victims

The AT&T Business Resource Groups (BRG) -- The Alliance, 4A, HISPA, ICAE, IDEAL, LEAGUE and Women of AT&T -- have a long history of being at the forefront of helping communities in time of need. It was no exception when Hurricane Katrina smashed into the Gulf Coast. The BRGs worked in conjunction with the AT&T Pioneers to expand hurricane relief efforts. The BRG Council, which is made up of leaders from the seven BRGs, managed this effort with active participation from the local chapters. It mobilized members of all BRGs and other employees to collect monetary donations and plan fundraising activities that included a bake sale, nacho sale, bracelet fundraiser, silent auction, as well as setting up collection tables in central areas of many AT&T facilities for clothing and other donations.

The BRG Council is confident that these efforts, which yielded $9,340, will go a long way toward assisting the victims with short-term needs and rebuilding their lives.
